Open Graph & Social Meta Generator

What this tool does

Fill in the title, description, canonical URL and share image, choose the Open Graph type and the Twitter card type, and the tool writes the <meta> tags. Paste them inside the <head> of your page.

The output includes og:type, og:title, og:description, og:url, og:image, and twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description, twitter:image. Empty fields are left out rather than written blank.

How to use it

1. Fill in the title, description, canonical URL and share image URL.
2. Choose the og:type and the twitter:card type.
3. Press Copy Tags and paste them inside the head of your page.
4. Check the live page with the Open Graph checker.

Why these tags matter

When someone pastes your link into Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, WhatsApp or X, those services read these tags to build the preview card. Without them, the platform guesses, and the guess is often a wrong image or a cut-off title.

Choosing the values

• og:type is website for general pages, article for posts, product for product pages and profile for people.
• Twitter card summary_large_image shows a wide image above the text. summary shows a small square image.
• Image. Use an absolute URL. A 1200 x 630 pixel image works well for the large card. Keep important content away from the edges, because crops differ between platforms.
• URL. Use the canonical address, so shares of different URL variants count together.

If you use WordPress with Rank Math or Yoast

Those plugins already write Open Graph tags from each page’s settings. Adding the same tags by hand creates duplicates, and platforms may pick the wrong one. Use this generator for static sites, landing pages built outside WordPress, or to see what the tags should look like.

After publishing, check the result with the Open Graph checker. Platforms cache previews, so a change may not show up straight away.
