What this tool does
Upload a PDF and get a .pptx file with one slide per page. On each slide the tool places the page’s images where they were and adds the text as text boxes you can edit.
How to use it
- Press Choose PDF File, or drop a PDF (up to 24 MB) on the page.
- Press Export to PowerPoint.
- Press Download PowerPoint and tidy each slide.
How it works
A Python script opens the PDF with PyMuPDF, reads the images and the text blocks with their positions, and rebuilds them on slides using python-pptx. The slide proportions follow the first page: wide pages get a 16:9 slide, and others keep their own proportions.
What to expect
This turns a PDF into a starting point, not a polished deck:
- Text becomes separate text boxes, split the way the PDF split it. A single paragraph can arrive as several boxes.
- Fonts, spacing, line breaks and colours will not be identical.
- Vector artwork, charts and background graphics aren’t rebuilt as editable shapes.
- Scanned PDFs have no text to extract. You get slides with pictures but no editable text.
- A password-protected PDF is refused with a message to unlock it first. Use Unlock PDF.
Every slide needs checking, and you should plan to tidy the layout.
Privacy
The PDF is uploaded, converted in a temporary folder, and is not added to the media library. The download link expires after 15 minutes. Up to 10 requests a minute are allowed.
For the reverse direction, see PowerPoint to PDF.
Will the slides look like the PDF?
Roughly, with images and text in the same places, but fonts and spacing will differ and you will need to tidy up.
Can I edit the text afterwards?
Yes, text is placed in text boxes. Each box holds a block of text as the PDF structured it.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
There’s no text layer to convert, so you only get images on the slides.
Why was my file rejected?
The PDF is probably password protected. Unlock it first.
How big can the PDF be?
Up to 24 MB.
