Rotate PDF

What this tool does

Upload a PDF, choose 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise, and the tool gives back a PDF with all pages turned by that amount. The upload limit is 20 MB.

How to use it

1. Press Choose PDF File, or drop a PDF on the page.
2. Choose a Rotation Angle: 90° clockwise, 180° or 270°.
3. Press Rotate PDF, then Download Rotated PDF.

What it can’t do

There is no per-page control. Every page is rotated together. If only some pages are sideways, you have two options: split the document with Split PDF, rotate the part that needs it, and merge the pieces back with Merge PDF; or use the PDF Editor, which lets you rotate a single page in your browser.

How the rotation is applied

A PDF page can carry a /Rotate value that tells the viewer how to display it. The tool adds that value to each page, or increases it if one is already there. It does not redraw or re-encode the content, so the file’s text and images are untouched and the quality is unchanged. That is also why file size barely changes.

Where it can fail

The tool changes the PDF file directly using text patterns. That works on normal, unencrypted PDFs. For encrypted files, or for PDFs that keep their page information in compressed object streams, the rotation may not be applied, or the file may not open. If that happens, check the result in a viewer, and use desktop software for that file.

Because the rotation is a display setting, some programs that ignore /Rotate may show the pages in their original orientation. Most viewers respect it.

Your file is stored temporarily on the server, not in the media library, and the download link expires after 15 minutes. Up to 10 requests a minute are allowed.
